Summer holidays this year may not be quite what many of us had imagined or hoped, writes Sue Grossey, but with a bit of sunshine, a paddling pool in the garden and a bribe to the kids to bring you cool drinks on a tray, you can recreate the pool-side experience without leaving home. And to make it all the more real, I can suggest some MLRO-ish summer reading – some serious, some thought-provoking and some escapist.
