The Manchester Arena bombings

The Manchester Arena bombings are currently the subject of an important public inquiry arising from a terrorist attack in May 2017 when Salman Abedi detonated a bomb filled with shrapnel at the Manchester Arena, just as a concert given by Ariana Grande was ending. The event was attended by thousands of children and young people, and 22 innocent people were killed in the explosion, as was the bomber himself. Many other people were seriously injured, and over the past few weeks the Inquiry has been hearing harrowing details of this tragedy from the families of those who died and from some of the injured.
