Focus 'Demo' market faces post-pandemic glut of unwanted ships

Many holidaymakers on England’s south coast this summer were confronted by the spectacle of giant cruise liners idling just offshore, their sailings cancelled because of the pandemic. In the media, reports of failed cruise firm CMV selling off its ships, P&O Australia’s Pacific Dawn becoming a floating hotel and the likes of Marella Cruises and Carnival bringing forward the retirement of their classic vessels paints a picture of an industry in turmoil.
