Christmas crime, bravado and whine

I suspect that most of us – readers andcolumnists alike – will be glad to see the back of 2020, writes Sue Grossey.It has been a dark and peculiar year, and many will be gearing up to celebratea Christmas like no other, perhaps far from loved ones and on a more limitedbudget. Those of us toiling at the AML coalface will doubtless be in need of aChristmas break, away from those in the regulated sector who sympathise with EbenezerScrooge’s view of customer due diligence: “It’s not my business. It’s enoughfor a man to understand his own business, and not to interfere with otherpeople’s. Mine occupies me constantly.” But for our last outing of the year,let’s immerse ourselves in some festive financial musings.
