HAMILTON HIRES KINSALE'S RHOADES FOR US SPECIALTY EXPANSION

Hamilton Insurance Group has appointed Clay Rhoades as president of its US managing general agency operation. Rhodes, who joins from Kinsale Insurance, will oversee the expansion of Hamilton’s US specialty insurance businesses written across its group platforms. The newly created role at Hamilton Managing General Agency Americas comes as the group continues to build its global specialty insurance and reinsurance operations. “Clay’s leadership will provide the springboard we need to advance our US build-out at an ideal time in the market,” Pina Albo, Hamilton Insurance Group chief executive, said. The US underwriting operation, which has recently expanded to environmental liability and transactional liability, would continue to expand in “targeted lines of business”, Albo added. Rhoades most recently held the role of senior vice-president of commercial property/inland marine at excess and surplus lines insurer Kinsale.
