HOWDEN HIRES MALTESE FROM GUY CARPENTER

Howden has hired at least 15 executives and other members of staff from fellow broker Guy Carpenter, according to trade media. An initial report said Howden had hired Bradley Maltese, formerly vice-chairman of global specialties at Guy Carpenter. This was then followed by a further report that suggested around another 15 executives from the London office had also left. Maltese was appointed to his old position in Guy Carpenter in January 2019, having formerly been deputy chief executive of the UK and Europe at JLT Re. He was previously the head of JLT Re’s Bermuda operations. A spokesperson for Howden told Insurance Day: “We are pleased to confirm Bradley Maltese will join us as chief executive of Howden Reinsurance Brokers following the completion of his contractual obligations to his current employer.” No further comment was made by Howden. Guy Carpenter declined to comment on the story.
