Intact Financial's earnings jump on improved underwriting
Canadian property/casualty group Intact Financial's first-quarter net earnings jumped to C$514m ($425.1m) from C$107m, driven
by improved underwriting results. Operating income per share rose to C$2.40 from C$1.61, beating analysts’ forecast of C$2.15.
