Vaccination compensation increased

Following a two-year review, changes to the 1979 Vaccine Damage Payment scheme will increase payments to 900 vaccine-damaged children from £40,000 to £100,000 each. Those who have already received payments will be entitled to a top-up. The social security secretary also announced a lowering of the disability threshold for eligibility and an extension of time in which a claim can be made.
