Classification society expelled

Polski Rejestr Statkow has been expelled from the International Association of Classification Societies. This surprise move follows the 18-death loss of the Leader L earlier this year and occurs before its own report is complete. There has been widespread criticism of classification societies in relation to other large and costly maritime losses but so far they have not suffered expulsion.
