Northrop to pay São Paulo victims

US-based Northrop Grumman Corporation has been ordered to pay compensation to the families of 45 victims of the 1996 crash of a TAM Airlines’ Fokker 100 shortly after takeoff at São Paulo. In all, almost 100 died, including the crew and three people on the ground, but the order to pay US$1.1mn applied to the class action only.
