Interest for administrative delays

The Parliamentary Ombudsman has called for consistent and appropriate compensation for loss of interest, for those subjected to poor government administration. He had found wide discrepancies between departments. This is based initially on late payment to farmers of EU subsidies, with up to £500,000 additional money to be shared by more than 5,000 farmers.
