PREVISICO APPOINTS SENIOR FLOOD MODELLER

Insurtech Previsico has hired former RMS executive Dimosthenis Tsaknias to lead its flood modelling team, as the company looks at global expansion. Previsico specialises in modelling surface water flooding in real-time by using geospatial technology for weather predictions, in partnership with IBM, to deliver property-level flood nowcast and forecast warnings. Before joining the insurtech, Tsaknias was senior project manager at the National Observatory of Athens and previously at Lloyds Banking Group as manager of its weather modelling team. Prior to that he was lead modeller at RMS, where he contributed to the development of hazard and financial loss flood risk models covering 12 countries in Europe as well as Japan, India, and Brazil.
