Admiralty practice – Judgment in default – Whether court had jurisdiction to grant judgment in default of acknowledgment of service in collision action

This was an application for judgment in default of an acknowledgment of service in a collision claim. The claimant was the registered owner of the oil tanker Tecoil Polaris which suffered damage on 18 July 2018 when (being stationary at her berth at Albert Dock in Hull) the vessel Poseidon collided with her.
