MARSH CLAIMS AON 'TRYING TO SQUASH COMPETITION' IN POACHING LAWSUIT

Marsh has accused Aon of seeking to "unfairly squash competition" in a legal counterattack against an Aon lawsuit alleging poaching. Earlier this week Aon filed a restraining order and brought a formal legal case against Marsh and a group of former Aon employees. In a legal motion filed at the Circuit and County Courts of Miami-Dade County in Florida, Aon accused the rival broker of effectively raiding its US business and encouraging staff to break restrictive covenants. However, Marsh responded with a motion of its own in the court, saying Aon was attempting to misuse the court’s authority to “bully its employees and unfairly squash competition”. Marsh said the recent Department of Justice decision to sue to stop the merger of Aon and Willis Towers Watson had “stalled” the union of the two companies and left the accused Aon employees with little to do.
