EPO rules it can continue to hold oral proceedings by videoconference without the consent of all parties during the pandemic, but declined to say if this should also apply in the absence of a general emergency

The European Patent Office has handed down a preliminary announcement in the high-profile ongoing G1/21 proceedings, confirming that video conferencing (VICO) is compatible with the European Patent Convention “in a general emergency”.
