CHUBB ESTABLISHES AVIATION HUB IN CANADA

Global re/insurer Chubb has created an aviation hub in Canada to extend its domestic general aviation and non-major aerospace businesses in the country. The group said the hub is part of a newly adopted regional focus for the aviation team at Chubb Global Markets, which includes Chubb’s London market wholesale and specialty arm and the group’s Lloyd’s platform. Chubb has named Arthur Meerdink as aviation practice leader for Canada to oversee the establishment and development of CGM’s aviation business there. Based in Toronto, Meerdink will report to Nigel Griffiths, regional head of general aviation at Chubb Global Markets, and Steven Lucas, Chubb’s major accounts segment leader in Canada. With more than 14 years of industry experience, Meerdink joins from AIG, where he served as senior executive underwriter in its aviation and aerospace division.
