ASCOT LAUNCHES ASCOT RE

Ascot has launched a reinsurance platform, Ascot Reinsurance. The Bermuda-based company said Ascot Re will provide "a single point of entry for all of its reinsurance products and capabilities, regardless of geography". Ascot Re will house all the group's existing reinsurance products, although they will continue to be underwritten by the various operating companies, which comprise syndicate 1414 at Lloyd’s, Ascot Bermuda and various US statutory companies. Ascot Re will be led by group chief underwriting officer Mark Pepper, who will be based in London, with executive oversight from Andrew Brooks, group chief executive and Jonathan Zaffino, group president. Rory Cline has been named president of Ascot Re US, which provides property FAC solutions throughout the US. Through Lloyd’s, Ascot Re will provide property and casualty treaty underwriting. In Bermuda, Ian Thompson, Bermuda chief executive, will oversee treaty operations spanning the property and casualty and specialty lines. report said.
