Oral polio vaccine
Batches of oral polio vaccine, as used on more than 11mn children since guidelines issued in 1989 following warning from the
Southwood inquiry of 1988 that vaccines could provide a route for human BSE infection, have been recalled. The Medicines Control
Agency found that some Medeva supplies had used material from British cows, in breach of the European guidelines of 1999.
