Liability Risk and Insurance
US RSI review
Twelve of the leading US property/casualty insurers have filed suit in the Fourth Circuit court of appeals, seeking review
of ergonomic standards, due for implementation on 1 January 2001, designed to reduce the risk of workers suffering repetitive
strain injury (RSI). Led by the American Insurance Association, they argue that the Occupational Safety & Health Administration
(OSHA) rules are a threat to the existing state-based workers’ compensation system through the creation of a new federal programme.
