In an effort to help protect trademarkowners and applicants against trademark scams and fraudulent solicitations, theUS Patent
and Trademark Office (USPTO), is for the first time, seeking federaltrademark registration of its own name and logo.The applications
cover various goods and services in Classes 9, 35, 41, 42, and45, including “maintaining registries of trademarks” and “legal
servicesrelating to issuing of trademark registrations”.
