Background provisions
Background provisions
The discussion in this chapter is around the enabling provisions which form the fabric supporting the more dynamic agents for change to be identified. These developments have been useful in signposting the highlighted path towards adoption of later technologies to be found. In many cases, they are part and parcel of the characteristics that a mature industry in the early 21st century ought to display. The initiatives chronicled here have fulfilled a purpose in changing attitudes and bringing about progression towards collaboration. However, their non-inclusion as dynamic agents recognises that they do not satisfy all the seven facets of the test of usefulness – novelty, intuition, scalability, alignment, incremental, accessible and worthwhile – and yet, their contribution is positive and worthy of recognition.
