Admissibility of expert evidence

In the raking over of the Nick Leeson affair, defendant auditors produced expert evidence to support their defence of lack of causation and contributory negligence; this focused on whether Barings officers should have been aware of the situation, without assistance from auditors. The claimants applied, unsuccessfully, for the striking out of the experts’ reports.
