Queniborough inquiry into cluster of five vCJD deaths
of people who lived in the Leicestershire village in the 1980s found all had eaten beef from two butchers with small abattoirs
(now long closed down) where brains were removed using the same equipment as for other cuts. Wiping, rather than hosing down,
carcasses was also preferred.
