Chief prosecutor calls for EU network of fraud investigators

An elite corps of highly qualified fraud investigators should be created within the European Union (EU), working transnationally via the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), says European Chief Prosecutor Laura Kövesi. She warned that significant levels of VAT fraud in the EU mean finance ministers should be “losing sleep” over the problem.
