UK could provide stable legal base for issuing digital bonds and equities

The United Kingdom could set "a global standard in internationally mobile digital markets" and become a leading jurisdiction in blockchain and DLT transactions, according to lawyers on the UK Jurisdiction Taskforce.

The Taskforce has just published a ' legal statement' on the Issuance and Transfer of Digital Securities in which it examines a range of issues relating to bonds and securities - and the capacity of the English legal regimeto facilitate the commercial use of blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology in capital markets.
