Worrying rise in port state detentions

Port state controls have been issuing their annual reports for 2022, showing a rise in detentions, as Liz Booth reports

Both Paris MoU and Class NK have shown a substantial rise in the number of detentions in 2022 compared to the preceding two years. More worrying, they agree, even when they compare the numbers to 2019 - pre-Covid-19 - the numbers are still on the increase.
