Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust v G and Others [2023] EWHC 2556 (Fam)

Applications to the court concerning a seriously ill child can give rise to strong emotions. Thankfully, such tragic cases are rare, but when the parents and the team caring for a child whose life expectancy is very limited disagree about the most appropriate treatment, it can fall to a judge to make an objective and carefully considered decision as to the child's best interests. That is what happened in the case outlined below.
