Costly strike
A five-day strike called by meat workers and port workers impacted £5 million ($6.13 million) of meat products into Belfast,
according to the Russell Group. The port of Belfast, along with Larne and Warrenpoint, as well as meat processing plants were
affected by the five-day strike action. Belfast has an annual flow of trade of $78 million, with $58 million in imports, with
meat products representing 10.4 per cent of all imports.
