The claimant, Symphony, a Liberian company, was the owner of the vessel A Symphony. The defendant, Sea Justice, a Marshall Islands company, was the owner of the vessel Sea Justice. On 27April 2021 the two vessels collided off the coast of Qingdao, PRC. The collision caused substantial damage to the hull and cargo of A Symphony and also gave rise to a serious oil pollution incident. On 28 April 2021 the claimant commenced proceedings in Singapore claiming damages for negligent navigation.
