Identification of producer of defective product

The Austrian Supreme Court has held that, to escape liability, the supplier of a defective product must identify the producer (or person who supplied the product to him) quickly and voluntarily. Late notification would only lift liability where it was shown not to have disadvantaged the claimant. This under national legislation implementing the EU Product Liability Directive.
