Rescue workers ‘not exposed’

A study conducted by the Centres for Disease Control & Prevention and the New York City health department claims that recovery workers at the WTC site were not exposed to dangerous levels of a number of substances including asbestos, hydrogen sulphide and mercury. This is based on analysis of air samples from devices attached to the collars of more than 1,000 search-and-rescue workers between 18 September and 4 October.
