Alimta likely to feature in future compensation levels

Eli Lilly has developed a chemotherapy drug, Alimta, to the stage of showing positive results in the treatment of those suffering from mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos. Results from clinical trials showed that patients treated with Alimta lived longer, endured less pain and breathed easier than patients treated with standard chemotherapy. The study was presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s annual meeting.
