Gulf war jet losses more than one event

A ruling of the Commercial Court, in MA Acott v Copenhagen Re , has gone some way to clarifying the vexed question of single or multiple losses. In determining the status of losses to British Airways (BA) and the Kuwait Airways Corporation, arising from destruction of planes and parts at the same site, Mr Justice Langley ruled that the BA loss was distinguishable because three of the four “unities” that make up an aggregating event were absent: timing, cause and reasons differed although carried out at the same location.
