Legal duty of ambulancemen

A county court decision and award of £34,000 to ambulanceman Anthony King who suffered injury when his partner slipped on a stairway and he was left supporting a heavy man in a carry-chair, has been reversed. The initial ruling against Sussex Ambulance Service was based on lack of assessment of the risk of moving the patient and lack of consideration of other means such as calling in the Fire Brigade.
