Flexible working rights

The decision of the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) in Sykes v JP Morgan underlines new rights to flexible working hours. The applicant, having sought flexible working hours so as to have more time with her children, was declared redundant. She claimed her dismissal was sexual discrimination in that her employer said her request showed that she had “lost energy, motivation and focus”.
