Failure to establish whistle-blowing procedures
The Work Foundation, formerly the Industrial Society, has found that half the UK organisations surveyed had failed to set
up internal reporting procedures whereby staff can raise concerns about unethical corporate behaviour. Three years after the
Public Interest Disclosure Act only 52% had formal whistleblower policies; this splits to a mere 32% in the private sector,
with the public sector still leading at 75%.
