US senate condemns Enron directors

The outcome of the US Senate’s six-month inquiry into the collapse of Enron has led to condemnation of its directors for “knowingly” allowing high-risk accountancy practices and failure to “protect Enron shareholders from unfair dealing.” The board should have noticed “red flags” as early as 1999.
