It has long been recognised that the outcome of claims involving vicarious liability can be particularly unpredictable because
each case turns on its own particular facts. The Court of Appeal has recently considered yet another case brought against
a local authority alleging that the organisation was vicariously liable for sexual assaults committed many years previously
against children it had placed in foster care.
