Stress estimates

Speaking at the recent AIDA conference, US lawyer Hugh O’Boyle estimated that workers compensation insurers are likely to face up to 3,000 stress claims arising from 11 September. About 1,000 have been filed to date, but many occurrences are likely to fall foul of the two year limitation, in New York, for such claims. Symptoms of post traumatic stress often do not present until between six to eighteen months after an event, or even longer.
