Slug eats lettuce

SFI Group, pub operators and owners of the Slug and Lettuce chain, have revealed an accounting gap in excess of £20mn following suspension of share trading “pending clarification of financial position”. It appears to stem from “a significant overstatement of current assets and understatement of liabilities,” some dating back over three or four years, explained by “aggressive accounting and… lazy accounting.”
