Marine Medical Solutions (MMS) has urged seafarers and ship operators to be aware of numerous infectious diseases that are in circulation, including an increase in malaria among seafarers operating in West African regions as well as a ship that has been quarantined in Argentina because of Mpox. Dr Jens Tülsner, CEO at Marine Medical Solutions, noted that while the overall incidence of malaria has not increased, MMS has reported a significant rise in cases that could have been easily prevented with proper medical precautions.
