Talks between longshoremen union and US port operators resume

The 3 October agreement between the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) and US Maritime Alliance (USMX) appears to have settled the money issues (albeit on a tentative basis), but not other key matters, particularly relating to automation. The ILA and USMX have now said that negotiations will recommence in November, ahead of a deadline of 15 January 2025.
