Maritime risk: a new year ahead for shipping

Decarbonisation has remained at the top of the agenda for shipping in 2024. The expansion of the EU emissions trading scheme (the EU ETS) to include shipping has put a price on emissions for vessels trading to, from or within the EU, as well as requiring the industry to consider the commercial and administrative realities of implementing the scheme.
