Is shipping clinging to the past in upholding of global order?

Speakers at a recent ICS conference held in Hong Kong debated how the shipping industry should address the growing risks of unilateralism and protectionism, writes Cichen Shen of Lloyd's List

Concerns about unilateralism and trade protectionism are intensifying for the shipping industry, as more ominous signs emerge. The globalised system of trade and governance built since the Second World War has enabled the sector's prosperity today, but is upholding this order amid shifting geopolitics and economics proper persistence or clinging to the past?
