Enforcement transparency - jurisdictional comparisons
The Financial Conduct Authority's ongoing consultation about more frequent publication of the names of firms under investigation has sparked fierce pushback from the industry as well as a scathing report from the House of Lords Financial Regulation Committee. Abdulali Jiwaji and colleagues in Frankfurt and Paris (Dr Jan Kraayvanger and Jérémie Fierville) give perspectives on the issue.
Abdulali Jiwaji (abdulali.jiwaji@signaturelitigation.com) is a partner with Signature Litigation who has over 25 years' experience in litigation, arbitration and contentious regulatory matters, in London and Hong Kong. Dr Jan Kraayvanger (jan.kraayvanger@signaturelitigation.com) is a founding partner of Signature Litigation's Frankfurt office and Jérémie Fierville (jeremie.fierville@signaturelitigation.com) is a Paris-based partner who has also practised in the United Kingdom.

At the end of November 2024, the regulator announced a second round of consultation on its proposals for increased transparency
as to its investigations and enforcement processes.
