On 20 November 2016 two pairs of high voltage undersea electricity cables belonging to RTE and connecting England and France
and were damaged in the English Channel. RTE claimed that the damage was caused in the aftermath of a collision between a
dumb barge,
Stema Barge II, and a general cargo vessel,
Saga Sky, in the course of which the anchors of the two vessels were dragged over the cables.
