Insurance (motor) – Pillion passenger injured – Defence of illegality – Effect of motorcycle having been stolen – Road Traffic Act 1988, sections 143, 148 and 151 – Motor Insurers' Bureau Uninsured Drivers Agreement 2015

In April 2017 KD, then aged 15, sustained serious injuries in a road traffic accident while a pillion passenger on a motorbike driven by his uncle JW, aged 16, who was taking KD to hospital after injuring his ankle. Neither was wearing a helmet.
