Application to discontinue clinically assisted nutrition and hydration

NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board v Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability and Another [2024] EWCOP 66 (T3)

The Integrated Care Board (ICB) sought a determination in April 2024 under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 that it was lawful and in the best interests of XR for those treating him not to continue clinically assisted nutrition and hydration (CANH) through a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube and only to provide palliative care.
