Difficult issue concerning 16-year-old's consent to hormone treatment

O v P and Q [2024] EWCA Civ 1577

The Court of Appeal has dismissed proceedings rather than simply adjourning them shortly after the publication of the Cass Review, when there was still sufficient doubt about what the appropriate approach should be to consent when proposing to treat a young person with cross-sex hormones. The appeal was from a decision of the Divisional Court by Judd J in April 2024.
