Violence against women

The Guardian newspaper has recently cited The Femicide Census report to provide data giving a picture of the extent of "men's fatal violence in the UK". One alarming fact in the report is that more than 170 mothers have been killed by their sons in 15 years in UK, which accounts for almost one in 10 of all women killed by men. The "2,000 Women" report by the Femicide Census reveals that mental ill health was a factor in 58 per cent of matricide cases. The data is drawn from freedom of information requests to police and media reports.
